  • Heat less: Use fresh, local produce in salads, sandwiches, and cold soups – they’re refreshing and don’t require cooking. Find a few starter recipes here.Starter Recipes

 

  • Use different appliances: A microwave, toaster oven, or slow cooker will use up to 60% less energy compared to a conventional oven. And summer is the season for outdoor grilling!

 

  • Size appropriately: Use the smallest pot, burner, amount of water, etc. needed for the job. A 6-inch pan on an 8-inch burner will waste more than 40% of the energy! Cover pots and pans to save even more energy.
